Maclean's Doubt Over Owls Future

Wednesday striker Steve Maclean has revealed he is unsure where he will be playing his football next season - but hopes it will be in the blue and white of Wednesday.

The Scot, who is now the club's leading scorer after netting his tenth goal of the season in last nights draw with Plymouth, is out of contract in the summer and Owls boss Brian Laws is yet to offer the hitman a new deal at the club.

And the 24-year-old has revealed he is yet to hear anything regarding his future from any parties.

'I've not heard anything from any party. I'm just gonna give my all and see what happens,' Maclean told BBC Radio Sheffield.

'If everybody knows I'm a free agent I can talk to anybody I want just now and I'll just wait and see what happens. Hopefully I'll keep banging goals in and hopefully it will be for Sheffield Wednesday in the future, but you never know.'

The former Rangers and Scunthorpe man has been the centre of attention with Owls fans calling on Laws to offer him a new deal - and Maclean's strong reaction to his last-minute winner over Southend two weeks ago looked to be aimed at the South Stand.

And although Laws praised his number nine for his quick thinking to net the opening goal last night, he is yet to come out and reveal whether or not he will be offering the player a new deal.

It's looking less and less likely at the moment and what's worse is that Laws isn't saying anything at all about it.

Laws is a nonce

FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
Yes nonce, why dont you just reitterate what I just said - NONCE correct a mundo.
tomdangerfield
give him a new contract NOW !!!!! the guy is not far off premiership quality, with anew contract, if someone came in for him,and we had to let him go, at least we would make money from a player and not flush it down the toilet, as we have done in previous years.!!!!!
andyowl64
do you know what a nonce is you idiot??!!! i agree that macca needs a new contract and quick but calling laws a nonce just shows how clever you are... not very!!!
FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
Nonce?!? not sure thats the right word to describe Laws. We need to keep ho;d of Macca, he's got a bright future ahead - just hope it's with us...
Owlsmad
Instead of arguing about the trm nonce, lets look at last few games. Macca did score a dubious goal against Plymouth, but add up the shots by our strikers against Plymouth and QPRma nd you will only need one hand to count on. All these people who say he must have a new contract have to look at the facts, Take away his Penalties, and he IS NOT Prolific at this level, so who will he be Prolific against Premiership teams ?
