'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Brunt Attracts Premiership Interest

Wednesday winger Chris Brunt was watched by four Premiership managers at Loftus Road on Saturday - sparking rumours of a summer departure for the Ulsterman.

Charlton boss Alan Pardew, West Ham boss Alan Curbishley, Reading boss Steve Coppell and Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce were all in the Loftus Road stands on Saturday to keep on eye on Brunt - who netted his 10th league goal of the campaign in the Owls' 1-1 draw with John Gregory's men.

And Wednesday boss Brian Laws has revealed he's expecting interest for the Northern Irish international when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.

'I can't stop speculation or people coming to watch Chris,' said Laws.

'There's always going to be interest in quality, and I put him in that category. He's enjoying his football, enjoying his time at Sheffield Wednesday. He, like everyone else, hopes that he plays in the Premiership with Sheffield Wednesday.'

But Brunt insisted that he is enjoying his football in S6 and hopes to keep going in the right direction.

'It's nice to see Premiership managers at Championship matches,' Brunt told the Sheffield Star.

'The Premiership is where everybody wants to play, and I'm no different. Things are going well at Sheffield Wednesday, and I've thoroughly enjoyed my three years; hopefully we'll keep going in the right direction.'

This is one player we need to keep a hold of and not let go lightly like we did with Bougherra.

Was 2.5 million letting him go lightly?
AndyOwl
well we havent spent any of it, lets see if we actually do in the summer!!!

Andyowl asks "Was 2.5 million letting him go lightly ?" Look at our defence since the last game he played against Derby. Lee Bullen is not half the player he was when Majid was with him. None of our centre halfs can pass, normally they control it, and then give it away.
