Owls Striker Set To Depart

Wednesday striker Barry Corr is set to depart Hillsborough this summer after being told by Owls boss Brian Laws that he has no future at the club.

Corr was brought to the club from the Leeds United academy by former boss Paul Sturrock and featured a number of times for the club last season as the Owls faced a striker crisis.

But the 22-year-old has been shipped out to Bristol City on loan and even went to train with Chesterfield last week only to be sent back to S6 - and Laws has revealed he feels his future lies elsewhere.

'Barry's done tremendously well as a youngster, but I feel his probably best prospect is away from here. Chesterfield rang us last week and asked if they could have a look at him. We need to look further than Barry Corr.' Laws told the Yorkshire Post.

Laws has already brought in Leon Clarke from Wolves and is currently mulling over his striking options with Steve Maclean, deon Burton and Marcus Tudgay all impressing.
