Owl Gets Scotland Call

On-loan goalkeeper Iain Turner has been rewarded for his fine form in between the sticks for the Owls by earning a call-up to the Scotland squad for their Euro 2008 qualifiers.

The young Everton stopper, currently on a month's loan deal at Hillsborough, will be part of Scotland's 26-man squad for the clashes against George and Italy in the next few weeks.

Turner is yet to earn a cap for the Scots but is edging closer and closer following his impressive loan spell at Wednesday, and a previous loan deal at Crystal Palace last year.

The stopper helped Wednesday pick up their first clean sheet of the year in last night's 2-0 victory over Colchester - with the Owls picking up three wins and two draws since Turner collected the number one jersey at Hillsborough.

And as revealed earlier on Vital Sheffield Wednesday, the Owls are currently in discussions with the Toffees about extending the stopper's loan deal until the end of the season.

That is us done in then !!!! This is what happened to Carson, so we might as well start looking for a new keeper for next season, we have no chance og getting him now.
