Who Are Yer?: Wolves

We talk Mick McCarthy, Leon Clarke, and Wolves' promotion aspirations with Vital Wolves editor Stuart, in this week's 'Who Are Yer?'...

-------------------------------------------

1. Are you confident of getting a play-off spot or are you looking even further than that?

I'm still not confident of anything to be honest Nick. I still think automatic promotion is a bit too much to ask and with a third of our games left with sides in the top 8 anything could still happen

2. You didn't make a cracking start to the season, but the run you've had of late has been superb - whats been the difference?

Without doubt I'd say our January signings have been the difference. Keogh, Ward, and Kightly have had a massive impact, and players that have come into the team because of injury have excelled.

3. What are your thoughts about Mick McCarthy?

The best thing that's happened to the club for many seasons.

4. What's all the fuss about Michael Kightly then?

Where do you want me to start? He doesn't seem to have any fear. He's got great natural ability and isnt afraid to attack defenders. He works hard, tracks back, plays for the team and isn't afraid to get stuck in.

5. Leon Clarke is out on loan at the moment, so you won't have to worry about his threat (cough) - are you pleased?!

I've always felt a bit sorry for Leon. He got brought into the team as an emergency measure and initially did well, but never really lived up to the expectation he created. Leaving was definitely the right move for him, and I wouldn't be too upset of he could carve out a career somewhere else.

6. Who are your danger men?

Stephen Ward and Michael Kightly. Oh, and watch out for Olofin coming through from midfield.

7. What are your biggest weaknesses?

On Tuesdays performance, defensive lapses at dead balls, but on the whole it would be tricky to pinpoint an area of weakness of late.

8. What's your most memorable Owls v Wolves match?

The Paul Jones cup match and the penalty shoot out, although my heart went out to Chris Waddle that night.

9. Finally, what's your score prediction?

I don't make predictions, and I never will ;).

-------------------------------------------

Cheers Stuart, and good luck for the rest of the season!
