Owls Overturn Leeds - Again!

Wednesday knocked another three goals by Yorkshire rivals Leeds United on Tuesday night - this time in a 3-0 victory between the two clubs' reserve teams.

Owls boss Brian Laws oversaw a strong looking side at Hillsborough in light of Wednesday's weekend off due to internationals - and the performance gave him plenty of food for though for their next Championship match against Crystal Palace a week on Saturday.

The returning Graham Coughlan, David Graham and new-boy Jason Bradley netted for the hosts on a comfortable evening for the Owls' second string.

Wednesday gave a run out to John Hills to step up his return to full fitness after the former Gillingham left-back suffered a calf injury way back in November - and the defender completed an hour of action unscathed.

Yoann Folly, Tommy Spurr and Kenny Lunt also featured in the victory to stake their claim for a starting role in the match at Selhurst Park at the end of the month, while Jason Bradley got his first start for the club and Rocky Lekaj, who recently broke in to the first team squad, played.

Their Elland Road opponents fielded a weak side - but one noticeable performer was former club captain Kevin Nicholls - who was recently told he would never play for the first team again after requesting a move back to former club, and relegation rivals, Luton Town.

Wednesday: Adamson, Broadbent, Hills (Beevers), Lunt, Coughlan, Spurr, Folly, McAllister, Bradley, Graham (McClements), Lekaj. Subs: McClements, Beevers, Jameson, McMenamin, Boden.

Leeds: Crockett, Madden, Crainey, Nicholls, Grace, Wilkinson, Gardner, Howson, Ameobi, Akwuegbu, Rothery. Subs: Hotchkiss, Cartman, Elliott, Bayley, Camfield.
