Simek Out For Trio

Simek Out For Trio

Wednesday defender Frank Simek has learnt that he will miss the next three Championship matches for the Owls following his dubious red card in the Owls' clash with Wolves at the weekend.

Simek was shown a straight red card for his late challenge on Wolves midfielder Michael McIndoe in the Owls 2-2 draw with Mick McCarthy's men on Saturday - with the Wolves boss expressing his disgust at the challenge.

But Owls boss Brian Laws hasn't appealed against the decision, and Simek will now miss the clashes with Crystal Palace, Cardiff and Ipswich Town before making his comeback in the clash at West Brom.

The red card was the first of the American's career - and tarnished a superb week for the right-back which included netting in the victory over Colchester United and being called up to the US National side for the firs time in his career.
