Rocky Earns Norway Call-Up

Chris Brunt, Iain Turner and Frank Simek aren't the only Owls to be called up for international duty this week - with youngster Rocky Lekaj joining the Norway U19s squad.

It's the first international call-up for the 17-year-old winger, and he will travel to France with the rest of the Norway U19 squad to take part in their clash with France next Tuesday.

'I was really happy to get the call this morning. It is my first call-up and everything has been going very well for me recently. I have been happy in training and matches as well as playing for the reserves and first team so I am really pleased at the moment.' Lekaj told the official SWFC website.

The news follows a fine season for Lekaj, who was brought up in Norway but born in Kosovo, after the youngster impressed in the reserve team throughout the season and has been involved in the Owls' first team squad in the last few games in light of the injuries to Wade Small and Jermaine Johnson.

And the 17-year-old also got a run out as a late substitute in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Colchester United, and he will be hoping for further appearances in the blue and white stripes before the end of the season.

Good luck Rocky. No doubt you will impress, and end up being spotted by another team, and leaving us.
