Wednesday striker Barry Corr bagged his first league goal of his career for loan club Swindon Town in their 3-2 victory over promotion rivals Lincoln City this afternoon.
The young Irish striker is currently on loan at the County Ground until the end of the season after Owls boss Brian Laws deemed him surplus to requirements at Hillsborough earlier this week.
Corr joined up with the man who brought him to Hillsborough from Leeds United, Paul Sturrock, at the League Two side this week and repaid Sturrock's confidence in him by bagging a goal and an assist in the victory which keeps Swindon hot in the promotion race.
And boss Sturrock was full of praise the lanky frontman.
'The game changed when Barry Corr had to go off with a slight tweak to his back. He has the qualities to be a very good player but when he went off things weren't sticking up front.' he told the official Swindon website.
Town had found themselves a goal down before levelling soon after and turning the game on its head before the break as Corr was well positioned to steer home his first league goal of his career.
And he had an important hand in the Robins' third of the afternoon at Sincel Bank - which was scored by another former Owl in Lee Peacock - as he close control got the better of two City defenders before putting the goal in a plate for the Scot.
The impressive performance from Corr will go a long way to Sturrock taking him to the County ground on a permanent basis at the end of the current campaign with the striker well down the pecking order at S6.
