Owls Set For Dutch Pre-Season

Owls Set For Dutch Pre-Season

Wednesday are set to announce a tour of Holland this pre-season, with Dutch Division One club Go Ahead Eagles the first club to announce a summer clash with the Owls.

According to the club's official website, and Dutch newspaper 'De Stentor', the promotion chasing GA Eagles will face Wednesday at their De Adelaarshorst stadium on Tuesday, July 17 as part of their pre-season preparations.

And it's thought that Brian Laws and his men will set up a summer camp in Holland and play a number of other pre-season matches, in preparation of the 2007/2008 campaign, which are yet to be confirmed.

A possible tour of Holland could well be good news for die-hard wednesdayites who enjoy going to watch their their beloved Owls here there, and everywhere.

The pre-season tour of America last year which was organised by former boss Paul Sturrock meant that many couldn't afford the trip across the pond, and missed out on the Owls in action on foreign shores in pre-season.

Sheffield United enjoyed their pre-season in Holland last season, with a healthy number of Blades making the short trip to Holland - and Owls fans could well follow in their foot-steps this summer should a full tour be announced by the club before the end of the season.
