'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Laws Eyes Permanent Turner Deal

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has revealed that he hopes to keep on-loan Everton stopper on a permanent basis in time for next season.

The Scot has impressed the Owls boss and fans alike since his arrival at Hillsborough a month ago, with the Owls unbeaten since his arrival at S6.

Laws told Sky Sports: 'He is doing really well for us, I'm really pleased with him and we are looking to talk to Everton about the situation between now and next season.'

'[We are] only as hopeful as you can be, we are not being overly confident. He is their player and they have their own ideas I'm sure, but it is something I will be discussing with the manager as soon as I can.'

The Goodison Park club had agreed to extend the stopper's loan deal with Wednesday for an extra month last week, with Turner finding himself third in the pecking order on Merseyside behind Tim Howard and Richard Wright.

And Turner has already expressed his enjoyment at getting regular football with the Owls since making the move - and could get much more to break in to the Scotland set-up next season should he remain in S6.

And Wednesday are similarly desperate to get a regular number one stopper at the club after using four loanees in the last year - Scott Carson, Brad Jones, Mark Crossley and Turner.

lets hope we can get him! now for the interesting bit! I KNOW why Graham is on his way out!!! on sunday 11th of march all the players went to the horses and had a curfew of 12midnight. Graham ignored the curfew got rat-arsed and didn't turn up for training on the monday! we were playing Colchester on the Tuesday and he was due to beon the bench and he never turned up for the match and didnt let anyone know! and he was seen in town off his tits after the match by some fellow players. also, sturrock wasn't only sacked because of results...........
