Palace Keen On Owls Target

Crystal Palace are looking to go head-to-head with Wednesday over a possible move for Everton stopper Iain Turner according to media reports today.

The Scottish international stopper has enjoyed successful loan spells with both clubs this season and has attracted the attention of both managers who are keen to add a new number one to their ranks this summer.

The Owls are set to battle it out with the Eagles over a possible permanant deal for the youngster, with Turner down the pecking order in the goalkeeping stakes at Goodison Park despite being highly rated by Toffee's coaches.

And Laws told Sky Sports earlier this week: 'He is doing really well for us, I'm really pleased with him and we are looking to talk to Everton about the situation between now and next season.'

'[We are] only as hopeful as you can be, we are not being overly confident. He is their player and they have their own ideas I'm sure, but it is something I will be discussing with the manager as soon as I can.'

Turner made just one appearance for the Merseyside club in the League Cup win over Luton before going on to enjoy a one-month loan spell at Selhurst Park where he helped Palace to two wins, two draws and just one defeat.

Injury cut his spell in London short before Brian Laws expressed an interest in bringing him to S6 at the end of February and the Owls are yet to lose since his arrival - with three wins and three draws, inclding the Owls' first clean sheet of 2007 against Colchester.

I see a Scott Carson situation coming. We spent all last summer chasing him, and ended up with that reject from Boro. Give him and everton what they want, and lets get some stability and consistancy at the back
