Owls Watching Dimi
Wednesday are rumoured to be among a number of clubs chasing the services of highly-rated Hartlepool United goalkeeper Dimi Konstantpoulos.
The Owls are highlighting a permanent first-team stopper as a priority in the pre-season after using four different loan keepers since March last year.
The 28-year-old is out-of-contract this summer and has already attracted the attention of Coventry City and Premiership duo Fulham and Wigan with his fine performances betwen the sticks this season.
Wednesday are said to be one of around 40 scouts that have beenmaking the trip up to Victoria Park to keep tabs on the stopper, and former Owls legend and now Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson revealed he could be on his way out come the summer.
'In my opinion he is the best in League Two by a country mile,' said Wilson.
'I have not see enough of keepers above our league but certainly in ours we have the best.
'We counted about 40 scouts that came to our last home game against Lincoln. I'm sure they will be back this time. Whether they are watching Dimi I don't know. It's something we will deal with in the summer.
'We would love to keep him, I don't think he is actively looking to go at this moment. But that is a possibility.
'He has had this sort of contract since I came here. Even when there was interest last summer I knew the point would come when he would be out of contract. I would like to keep him and if we are successful I have a better chance of keeping this group of players together.'
Wednesday boss Brian Laws has already revealed his interest in keeping highly-rated Everton stopper Iain Turner on a permanent deal when his loan spell with the club ends.
But the young Scot could well be in Toffee boss David Moyes' plans next season should second-choice goalkeeper Richard Wright opt for a move away from Goodison Park.
And failure to bring Turner to Hillsborough could result in Laws turned to the Hartlepool stopper to fill the number one jersey at Hillsborough next season.
