Owls: A Successful Season?

This week's poll on Vital Sheffield Wednesday is asking users whether this season has been a successful one for the club or not? Have your say now!...

Although Owls boss Brian Laws is still keeping hopes of a play-off place alive following the victory over Crystal Palace, Wednesday look to be heading for a mid-table finish this season.

Compare it to last season.

At this stage of the campaign we were sweating over whether we could do enough to secure our survival in the Championship - luckily, or should I say, thanks to Scott Carson (and the rest of the team of course) we did.

So surely it can be seen as a successful season to progress from avoiding relegation to achieving (relatively boring) a mid-table finish with a distant hint of a play-off spot still within our grasp.

Or could it?

It seems some Owls fans, albeit a minority, are still claiming the Owls could, and probably should, be up with the play-off hopefuls had they not gone through their disastrous run from the turn of the new year.

Some fans are also still upset at the sacking of Paul Sturrock back in November following the 4-0 defeat at Colchester. Would the team have come good for Luggy and finished higher up the table, or would we continue to linger at the foot at the table as we did before his departure?

Definately a success, just a shame it had to be spoiled with off the field antics!

It's maybe fortunate we're not calling for KPS's head right now.. who knows where we'd be if he'd stayed?

Getting rid of KPS turned our season around. we could have been down there with Leeds and Barnsley if we had not taken the brave decision to get rid
