Folly Bags Against Baggies

Folly Bags Against Baggies

Wednesday midfielder Yoann Folly was on the scoresheet alongside youngster Sean McAllister as the Owls' reserves overcame West Brom's second string on Monday night.

The night was also a success for left-back John Hills who stepped up his return to full fitness following an injury which has kept him out of Brian Laws' first team plans for a number of months.

Midfielder Burton O'Brien also returned to action after undergoing a double hernia operation and completed an hour of action while hot prospect Mark Beevers and now Norway international Rocky Lekaj also featured.

SHERJILL MacDonald netted his first goal for the Baggies to give them the advantage but it proved to be in vain as the Owls came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory.

Former Southampton man Folly capitalised on some slack play by the youthful looking Baggies side just after the half hour mark to give Wednesday the breakthrough. Sean McAllister made it two from a Lekaj cross.

Wednesday reserves: Adamson; McMenamin, Broadbent, Beevers, Hills; McAllister (McClements 83), O'Brien (Stothard 61), Folly (Boden 77), Lekaj; Bradley, Kee. Subs not used: Kay, O'Donnell.

Albion: Daniels; Hodgkiss, Wallwork, Forsyth, Baker; Evans (Morrison HT), Bruce, Worrall, Compton (Nardiello 77); Elvins, MacDonald. Subs not used: Bateman (gk), Mason, Nichols.

It's time to give Folly another go in the first team before the end of the season

It sure is, I dotn have a clue how he has been dropped ahead of Lunt! Makes me worry about Laws when he cant spot a good player like Folly and prefers Lunt - oh dear!
