Laws Up For Gong

Laws Up For Gong

Wednesday boss Brian Laws is one of four Championship managers in line for the prestigious manager of the month award for March.

Laws has helped turn around the Owls season since his arrival at the club back in Noember but had to do a mini revival of his own after Wednesday made a disastrous start to 2007.

But three wins and three draws in March have seen the Owls cement their place in mid-table - with the Owls boss even insisting his men still have an outside chance of reaching the play-off positions before the end of the campaign.

Laws guided the Owls to impressive victories over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United, Colchester United and Crystal Palace most recently while taking a share of the spoils in the clashes with Wolves, QPR and Plymouth.

Laws will be up against stiff competition for the award in the form of Sunderland gaffer Roy Keane - who must be favourite for the award , Derby County boss Billy Davies and Coventry City boss Iain Dowie.

Football pundit Chris Kamara will announce the winner on Sky Sports News this week - with the dreaded 'manager of the month' curse hanging over the victor for this weekend's matches - so some Owls fans may hope Laws doesn't pick the gong up this time around!
