Everton Could Recall Turner

On-loan Owls stopper Iain Turner could have his spell at Hillsborough cut short should Everton boss David Moyes recall the youngster in light of an injury to Richard Wright.

Wright jarred his knee in the warm up before last night's victory over Fulham and the Toffee boss had to call-up the untested John Ruddy on to the bench in his place.

And Moyes has revealed that he could be forced to cut Turner's loan at S6 short should the injury to former Ipswich stopper Wright force him out for the remainder of their campaign.

'We don't know how bad Richard is but if I feel it is necessary then I will bring Iain back from Sheffield Wednesday. But no decision will be taken before Saturday so Iain can play at the weekend.' Moyes told the official Everton website.

Turner, who earned his first call-up to the Scottish national side recently, has been in inspirational form since making the loan move, and has been unbeaten in goal for the Owls in his seven-game spell for the club thus far.

And Owls boss Brian Laws has also highlighted his desire to keep the stopper on a permanent basis at the end of the season - a move which has been played down by officials at Goodison Park.

This will spell the end of our faint hopes of playoffs if he goes. The loan window is closed, and all we have is Chris Adamson. Just like with Carson, enjoy him while you can, he is too good for a team with no ambition like us.
