'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Former Owl's Euro Hopes

Former Wednesday stopper Kevin Pressman could be in line for a shock outing in the UEFA Cup next season with his current club Portadown.

'Big Kev' made the move to the Northern Irish Premier League outfit at the start of the season after completing a spell with Mansfield Town.

And he's helped the club - who attract just 2-3,000 fans per home match - to fourth in the table, which currently stands them in line for a run in the UEFA Cup next term.

'It has been one of the most bizarre things I have ever experienced,' Pressman told the Sheffield Star.

'Going out there and finding that the winners qualify for the Champions League qualifying stages and teams up to third or fourth go into the UEFA Cup; there's also an Intertoto Cup spot. We're fourth at the moment with four games left.'

The Fareham 'keeper made a whopping 402 league starts for the Owls during his long 19-year spell at the club after progressing through the Hillsborough youth ranks.
