Trio In Discussions

Wednesday have officially announced that three key players have entered discussions about extending their stay at the club this week.

Owls boss Brian Laws has already sat down with captain Lee Bullen and offered him a new deal, believed to be a one-year extension to his current contract, and Steve Maclean and Deon Burton will also discuss their futures with the Owls boss.

The news will put a halt to rumours linking marksman Steve Maclean with a move away from Hillsborough and will be a welcome boost before the end of the Owls' successful campaign under Brian Laws.

All three have played a huge part in the Owls season this term, with Maclean and Burton both finding the net regularly and Bullen giving his usual 100 per cent at the back, despite not getting any younger at 36.

But there is no mention of offers being put in the table for other out-of-contract Owls - with left-back John Hills being one of the men likely to make for the exit door at S6 this summer.

Great news to get all three signed up before the season has even finished. Hopefully we'll have learnt our lessons from last season and get our squad sorted out sooner rather than later!
