Owls Linked With Lozano

Reports from the Spanish press are linking Wednesday with a move for Racing Santander defender Oriol Lozano.

As reported earlier this week on Vital Sheffield Wednesday, Owls boss Paul Sturrock has sent scouts to look at the 24-year-old, who has fallen down the pecking order at the La Liga club.

Oriol has made just eight appearances for the club this season after moving from Villarreal in August 2004.

Paul Sturrock has made it public knowledge that he is on the lookout for new players to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window. Richard Wood and Graham Coughlan have formed a strong partnership in the heart of the defence though, and so it comes as somewhat a surprise that former Plymouth Arglye manager is looking for a defender.

Rumours have been circulating that city-rivals Sheffield United have shown an interest in former Plymouth defender Coughlan, and Oriol could be seen by Sturrock as the perfect replacement.
