'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Black Wary Of Owls

Birmingham coach Eric Black has revealed the Blues will have to be at the top of their game if they're to pick up a vital three points against Wednesday today.

Black and the rest of the St Andrews staff have been keeping a close eye on Brian Laws' men ahead of the huge clash in the Midlands today and they know the clash will be no walk in the park.

'Sheffield Wednesday are a decent side, they're solid at the back they've got brightness and pace and they pose a goalscoring threat,' he told the official Birmingham site.

'They're a very competant side with the likes of Chris Brunt, Steve Maclean and Marcus Tudgay and we'll need to be at our best to win it. They will be very confident, as you can imagine, so it will be a big, biug challenge again.'

'They've got a lot to play for as they've still got a chance of the play-offs so they will be desperate to win the game, but then again so will we.'

Birmingham could achieve promotion back to the Premiership this weekend should they pick up three points and rivals Derby lose at Crystal Palace tomorrow.

But Wednesday will be hoping to spoil the party and keep their promotion hopes well on track with a vital three points against the Blues.
