Clarke Makes Starting Claim
Wednesday striker Leon Clarke made a claim for a starting place in the Owls' final match of the season this weekend by netting in the reserves 2-1 defeat at Shrewsbury.
The former Wolves hitman is one of a number of players pushing for a starting place in the season finale against Peter Grant's Norwich City at Hillsborough on Sunday.
And his goal in the 2-1 defeat to Town on Wednesday afternoon will have done the youngster no harm in his hopes of grabbing a role in the Owls attack against the Canaries.
Owls boss Brian Laws has already revealed previously that he will give fringe and young players a chance once the play-offs are mathematically out of reach - but he will also be keen to finish the season off with three points in front of a bumper Hillsborough crowd.
The 22-year-old has made just three starts for the club since moving to S6 for an undisclosed fee in the January transfer window - netting his only goal in the victory at Cardiff City.
