Allen To Sanction Turner Deal

Wednesday chairman Dave Allen is all set to santion a deal, thought to be six figures, to bring young Everton 'keeper Iain Turner to the Owls on loan next season.

Allen was impressed with the Scottish international during his spell here - which saw the Owls go eleven games unbeaten - and wants to bring him back to the club next season according to the Sheffield Telegraph.

Everton boss David Moyes has already ruled out a permanent sale of the youngster but Owls boss Brian Laws hasn't given up on his services, insisting he will bring him back to the club next term should Everton allow him out on loan.

But any deal bringing Turner to Hillsborough is likely to include a 24-hour recall clause, with Turner all set to be the Toffees' number two choice 'keeper at Goodison Park next term.

The Scotsman has recently signed a new deal at Everton to secure his long-term future but is set to play second fiddle to Tim Howard next term as the American looks to put pen to paper on a deal at the Merseyside club next season.

And that could pave the way for Turner to return to Hillsborough and help the Owls to promotion next season.

Hope this is not another goalkeeping saga that just drags on and on like last season. I think the uncertainty damaged our preparations at the start of last season and we can't afford for it to happen again.
