Macca To Cost £50,000
Wednesday striker Steve Maclean is all set to put pen to paper on a deal at Hillsborough - a deal which will see the Owls pay £50,000 to Glasgow Rangers.
The Owls agreed with Maclean's former club Rangers that a further payment of £50,000 would be paid to the Ibrox club should the striker sign a new deal with the Hillsborough club.
But Owls chief executive Kaven Walker insists the sum will make no difference to negotiations with the Scotsman - who has already revealed he's keen to stay at S6 this summer.
'We have always known about this. It has made no difference to our negotiations with the player.' Walker told the Sheffield Star.
Wednesday have already made a new offer to keep Maclean at the club, along with Lee Bullen and Deon Burton, with all three expressing their desire to stay at the club next season.
The Edinburgh-born striker has been a big hit this season and has been a key figure in Brian Laws' plans by netting an impressive 13 goals, despite the Owls gaffers desire to rotate his strike force.
And Maclean is sure to be central in his plans next term as Wednesday look to make the next step forward and achieve a top-six finish.
