Heckingbottom Makes Barnsley Move
Owls defender Paul Hekingbottom has moved to neighbours Barnsley on loan with view to a permanent move.
The 28-year-old has been told by manager Paul Sturrock that he is no longer part of his plans after the arrival of John Hills and Peter Gilbert which has seen him drop down the pecking order.
The former Bradford City defender was rumoured to have turned down moves to Bristol City and Blackpool because he wants to stay closer to home, and he can't get any closer than his hometown Barnsley.
Heckingbottom made 47 appearances for the Owls after moving from Bradford City in May 2004. He was part of the team that won promotion via the play-offs last season, and scored two goals in his final game for the Owls against Charlton Athletic last week.
