Owls Linked With Midfielder

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has been linked with a summer move for out-of-contract Sunderland and former Ipswich Town midfielder Tommy Miller according to reports today.

Laws has already been linked with bringing a number of players to Hillsborough to bolster his squad ahead of the new season - with the Black Cat the latest name to be in the frame for a move to S6.

But the Owls will not be alone in chasing his signature, with Championship rivals Coventry City and Stoke City also linked while SPL side Hearts are also rumoured to be in discussions with the 28-year-old.

The former Hartlepool man signed for the Stadium of Light club on a free transfer from Ipswich in the summer of 2005 but has been allowed to leave on a free transfer by Mackem boss Roy Keane following promotion to the Premiership.

The in-demand midfielder spent a spell on loan at Preston last season after being deemed surplus to requirements at Sunderland but made 29 starts for the club in their 2005-06 Premiership campaign, and has a vast amount of experience at Championship level.
