Everton Track £3m Simek

Transfer talk has heated up over a possible move for highly-rated Wednesday right-back Frank Simek, with the American linked with a £3m move to the Toffees today.

The former Arsenal trainee has been one of the Owls' star performers since his arrival at the club and his performances last term has seen him linked with a number of Premiership clubs including Everton and Middlesbrough.

And today the Daily Mirror are reporting that David Moyes is lining up a £3m bid for the American international with the Owls unlikely to get in the way of such a large sum of money for a player they got on a free transfer back in 2005.

Wednesday have already been linked with a number of right-backs in recent months to fill in for Simek, but Owls boss Brian Laws will be keen to keep hold of one of his star men for next term unless the price is right.

The 22-year-old has made 83 league starts for the Owls since his arrival at S6 and has also achieved a call-up to the US national side and will take part in the Gold Cup next month.

We need to keep hold of our best players such as Frankie otherwise that promotion push may be halted. Don't get me wrong 3 million plus would be a great figure but all the same he's a great player and we need to keep hold of him.

unfortunately, i have to say i'd be a seller at 3m for a championship right back. i think we could bring in more important players with 3m. added to the 2m we were supposed to be bidding for sharp that would give us 4-5m (depending on what has to go to the bank) to spend over the summer, as we brought in JJ for 250k i'm more than confident Laws could build a better squad for next season

Simek is off this summer so we need to hold out for a smuch as possible.

If Simek is worth 3mill @ chams level, just think if we keep him get into the the prem. He would be doulbe that maybe more!

yeh, but to get to the prem 3m would really help the cause! It would make the billy sharp transfer possible, as we would be able to table an increased bid of 2m. Frankie Simek has been terrific this season and I would love him to stay, but a straight 3m would be very difficult for Mr Laws to turn down. If its one of those clause deals where the total figure is delayed then it is not worth it, because we need the money now to start building though the summer!

£3 Simek ??? - sounds like a bargain!

You can bet your life that if Simek goes for £3M, added to the £2.5M for Bougherra and another couple of mil from season ticket sales, Allen will not hand Laws the total near 8 million Wednesday have made. I'd be surprised if he even gave him half of it. So if I were Laws I would understand this and keep Simek. Allen's going to have some kind of contract whereby he eventually gets back what he put in when he shelled out for Burton, Tudgay etc.

Here's what Laws had to say on the matter. "I've heard nothing, as far as I'm concerned it's a load of bull," Laws told Sky Sports. "I have had no contact from Everton or any other such club regarding Frankie Simek and in the end Frankie Simek is not for sale." Laws is following my advice, smart move.

Don't want him to go, but if he does i'd have to wish him well, if it's to a team like Everton. top six premership playing in europe, not like Bougherra going to relegagtion fodder Charlton, a blind man could see they where going down. One more thing ! YOU DON'T SELL YOUR BEST PLAYERS IF YOU WANT TO PROGRESS. Up the Owls
duds
Sell him for £3M. Then loan him back for the season :D Problem solved.
