Lunt Linked With Terriers

Owls midfielder Kenny Lunt is the latest name to be linked with a move away from Hillsborough this summer, with Huddersfield Town showing an interest.

The former Crewe midfield man has been a key figure in Brian Laws' plans towards the end of the last campaign but the Owls boss is looking to strengthen in the midfield department.

And new Town boss Andy Ritchie has earmarked Lunt as the man to turn the West Yorkshire club's fortunes around next season, following his impressive performances in League One during his long spell at Crewe.

Glenn Whelan has all but cemented a starting place in the centre of the Wednesday midfield next term by picking up the player of the season gong, and with Wednesday linked to a number of midfielders including West Brom's Steve Watson, Lunt could well be on his way.

It was rumoured last summer that Wednesday shelled out over the odds for the Runcorn-born player, and getting Lunt off the wage bill could allow boss Laws to fund further signings in the pre-season.

The 27-year-old has made 30 appearances for the Owls since his free transfer summer move from Gresty Road last summer, but is yet to impress the Owls faithful.

If it allows someone better to come in in midfield then I say go for it. Lunt has been disappointing since he came.
