Owls Greatest Ever Goalkeeper?

The search for the Greatest Ever Owls Team begins today with the man at the back, the guardian of the onion bag, the goalkeeper.

Each week, until the entire team has been selected (including a manager!) we'll be running a poll on the Vital SWFC forum. You'll have one week to vote for each position. We'll tally up the votes at the end of the week and announce the results.

During the week you can also place nominations for players for the next week's position. The team will play 4-4-2 (regular Vital SWFC members will know my opinion about that system!).

This week we'd like you to vote for the Owls Greatest Ever Goalkeeper, and also tell us who you'd like to see included in the following week's poll for the Owls Greatest Ever Right Back. We'll announce the results for Goalkeeper next Saturday, so don't delay.

Register for the Vital SWFC forum and vote for your Greatest Ever Owls Team by clicking here!

Was Martin Hodge the only one to conceed a goal to another goalie?

Dont remember him as I was only a twinckle in mi dad's eye but it has to be Ron Springett. Springett made 33 appearances for England. He had been the first choice goalkeeper during the 1962 World Cup in Chile when England reached the quarter finals. His final cap was against Norway in 1966 shortly before the World Cup finals. He was a non-playing member of the England squad, that won the 1966 World Cup.
