Wednesday striker Steve Maclean is still in limbo with the club over a new contract - and we asked you whether he'll be at Hillsborough next season....well the results are in!
The latest Vital Sheffield Wednesday poll didn't want to know whether you WANTED Macca to remain in the famous blue and white stripes next season, but whether Owls fans thought he would be at S6 for the 2007/08 campaign.
And it was a close call!
44 per cent of VSW users thought that the former Rangers and Scunthorpe hitman would remain at S6 next season, despite it taking what seems like an age to sort out a new deal.
The Edinburgh born hitman has already expressed his desire to stay a Wednesday player and sign a new deal with the club but boss Brian Laws has already agreed new deals with Deon Burton and Lee Bullen - who were also out of contract - and is still in negotiations with the Owls' joint-top scorer.
'We are also still in negotiations with Steve MacLean. The situation is ongoing. Sometimes negotiations are plain sailing. Sometimes they can be a little bit dragged out,' Laws told the Sheffield Star.
And the remaining 56 per cent thought that Macca would be on his way out of Sheffield come the start of next season.
Brian Laws has already made his desire known on bringing striker Billy Sharp to Hillsborough, and with Deon Burton, Marcus Tudgay and Leon Clarke already tied to deals at S6, Maclean could well be the player to miss out.
Former Owls loanee Kenwyne Jones has also been linked with a £1.5m move to S6 - not a good sign for Macca, who would also command a £50,000 fee to Rangers for signing a new contract with the Owls.
Vital Sheffield Wednesday forum members also feel that Maclean will not be a Wednesday player next season.
'He'll be here next season, but with a different Club. Still no contract signature with less than 16 hours to go!' said CompostBin.
'I really can't decide on this but if I had to put money on it I'd say he won't be here next season,' said wednesdaytilidie.
'We're looking at Sharp and seen as Tudgay, Clarke and Burton are all on current deals Maclean will surely be going as we can't afford all of them.
'In fact, what's the betting that we're stalling on Maclean's deal until we know what's happening with Sharp?'
So it seems Owls fans are torn on whether they think Maclean will be wearing the blue and white of Wednesday next season or whether he'll be elsewhere.
One thing's for sure - we probably won't have to wait too long to find out.
