Evans Contract Terminated

Wednesday have today announced that winger Richard Evans' contract has been terminated by mutual consent.

Evans has not featured for the Owls since September 2003 and has had a tough time at Hillsborough with injuries and the arrival of new managers.

He's recently impressed on trial at Shrewsbury Town and it's thought they may take him on a short term contract to prove himself after months on the sidelines.

Shrewsbury manager Fary Peter's told the club's official website: ''He trained with us for a day and then played the reserve game against Blackpool last week.''

''We were very impressed with the way he trained and in the match, it was only a reserve game but he was getting to the by-line and getting crosses in from anywhere.''

Evans has made just eleven appearances for the club after signing from Birmingham City for a free transfer on deadline day March 2003.
