Peacock Contract Terminated

Lee Peacock has become the second Wednesday player to have his contract terminated by mutual consent today, after Richard Evans left the club earlier today.

The 29-year-old was being linked strongly with a number of clubs, with Walsall being the favourites to sign the former Bristol City player.

Peacock was told he was surplus to requirements by manager Paul Sturrock before the new year, and was told he could find a new club.

Walsall, Swindon Town, and also former club Carlisle United were linked with the striker, but Walsall seem favourite for his signature.

Peacock was signed by Chris Turner in the summer of 2005, and was a big part in the Owls promotion from League One last season. He made 57 appearances for the club, but only managed to net nine goals in all.
