Owls Linked With Double Swoop

We know you're already fed up of the rumours flying around Hillsborough - but we have two more lined up for you this weekend courtesy of The People.

Some forum members have already suggested that we're after Birmingham winger Julian Gray and Southampton's former Owls loanee Kenwyne Jones, with The People today running the same story.

Well I say story, it's literally two lines - and the second one also states that Brian Laws wants Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp - they're only a month or so late with that one, but we'll let them off.

Laws is keen on bringing a striker to Hillsborough though, despite the Owls' relatively good record in front of goal last season, and Jones could well prove a possibility after impressing in S6 during his loan spell here in 2004/05.

Jones has since featured on a regular basis for the Saints but with boss George Burley wanting extra firepower to help fire his team to promotion next season the St Mary's club could well be looking elsewhere, leaving Jones available to leave at the right price.

The links with Brum's out of favour winger Julian Gray seems a little less favourable, with Wednesday having one of the best left wingers in the league hoping to sign a new deal with the club in light of recent speculation linking Brunty with a move to the Premiership.

Add to this the fact that Birmingham fans don't seem to rate Gray, and that he couldn't get in to their first team last season, then I'm sure most Owls fans will be hoping the Jones rumour comes to fruition, while the Gray speculation is nothing more than that.

And as for Billy Sharp? Well we really don't want to open that can of worms again, do we?

Kenwyne, yes please. Grey, no thanks, I'd much sooner have Brunt. Sharp, Sharp who? :D

I echo that, NicNac, Jones would be an excellent signing if we can get him, probably not so with Gray...

Jones would be a good move for you. But Grey? Oh no!

Jones is a must, so young with a lot of talent. Is loved everywhere!

Would love to see Jones back down here. What he did for us whilst he was on loan was fantastic.
will it ever happen
