Former Owl Set For Hatters

Former Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Adamson is set to try and re-ignite his career with a move to League Two club Stockport County, subject to a medical.

The former West Brom stopper spent three years at Hillsborough but managed just nine first team league starts for the club, spending much of the time sitting on the bench.

But now County boss Jim Gannon is ready to give the 28-year-old stopper his much-awaited chance in the first time at Edgeley Park after learning of his abilities during time spent in the League of Ireland.

'Chris is a keeper I know very well from his time in the League of Ireland. He was excellent for St. Patrick's,' Gannon told the Stockport Express Advertiser.

'He's come back to England and been a bit frustrated at being number two at a number of clubs including West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday. We've had good reports about him and we feel that maybe he's now ready to be a good number one.'

The transfer of Adamson to the Hatters will be completed subject to a medical this week.

At 28 he really does need first team football!

It was kind of obvious he would end up there, but good luck to him
