'If It's Football, It's Vital'

One In, One Out

At last, transfer action at Hillsborough.. how will these moves pan out for the players and clubs involved?

As suggested a couple of weeks ago, Scunthorpe utility player Richard Hinds has agreed a two-year contract with Sheffield Wednesday, subject to a medical.

The former Hull man turned down a two-year deal with the Iron at the end of last month and reports suggested that a deal was in fact done some time ago. The 26-year-old joined Scunthorpe from Hull City in 2003 on loan, making a permanent move to Glanford Park in March 2005.

Wednesday manager Brian Laws said 'He is a utility player who can play good football'.

Perhaps a not too surprising turn of events given what we reported yesterday: Steve MacLean has completed a move to Cardiff City on a free, after three years at S6.

He joined from Glasgow Rangers for an undisclosed fee in July 2004, and was Owls Player of the Year in the 2004/5 season with 20 goals scored. He made a shock return from injury to convert his famous penalty in the League One play-off final after coming on as a substitute: the Owls went on to claim victory in that match and subsequent promotion to the Championship. Steve was joint top scorer last season and maintained his outstanding record from the spot.

Who will Brian Laws turn to now? Kenwyne Jones? Billy Sharp, no less? Have your say on the Vital SWFC forum!

sad to see him go but some one had to make way if there is a place for billy sharp or kenwyn or both, dont know much about hinds but we will just have to trust laws judgement he only wants the same as the fans and that is premiership up the owls!!!

Still no WOW signings then? Does it all rest on Sharp?

WOW signings and Sheffield Wednesday really don't go together...

Why has everyone got a downer on Sharp ? I know it is a risk, but sometimes we have not taken that risk have we ? We were favourites to sign Neil Lennon abot 12 years ago from Crewe, but £500,000 was a big risk, so Leicester took a risk and he was the main linchpin behind there most successful period. If Billy Sharp goes to Norwich and get 30 goals we will regret it wont we ? Is Macca going to get 30 at Cardiff ?
haxeyowl
noted that Norwich are now trying to sign Freddy Eastwood for £1.5mil (The Sun, Sat) - does this mean that Sharp has turned them down? Maybe he is the man to replace Macca.

Not to sure about him, we'll just have to wait and see!!
will it ever happen
