Hillsborough Under Water

As many of you have probably already seen in the local and national press, Hillsborough is underwater following the flooding in Sheffield over the last two days.

And the Owls may have got lucky with it being the pre-season, but director Ashley Carson told Sky News earlier today that it could cost up to £120,000 to replace the pitch, after groudsmen at Hillsborough had worked tirelessly to get it in to shape for the new season.

It's anticipated that the whole pitch will have to be dug up and resurfaced - and Wednesday face a race against time to get it ready with the new Championship season just six weeks away.

But the cost of the damage may not just stop with the pitch, with damage also being caused to a number of areas around the ground including the changing rooms and the boardroom, not to mention the clean-up job required around the ground and terracing.

Hillsborough was closed throughout today and it's thought it may also be closed tomorrow, with the club shop and the ticket office also suffering from the flooding.

Will Dave Allen put his hand in is pockets help with the damage done to Hillsborough?

I would dare to suggest he's got no choice..

Report on the L***s site says it was 12ft under water. Methinks that's exaggerating things a little as anything official coming out of the club says a maximum of 6. Not that that isn't bad enough...
