Pre-Season Optimism?

Pre-season is usually the time to put last season's woe, or joy, behind you as you look forward to a fresh start in August, a new beginning...hope...

And this season should be no different for Owls fans after Wednesday's superb end to their 2006/07 campaign which saw them finish just outside the play-off positions thanks to a superb run of just one defeat in thirteen games, masterminded by Brian Laws.

But this season seems different.

The lack of transfer activity, and the lack of any potential investors showing their face around Hillsborough have led to many Wednesday fans questioning the ambition of the club this summer.

There was talk of a promotion push around S6 for the forthcoming season after just missing out on the top six last summer, with substantial money being pumped in to bring in quality players to strengthen the squad, but as yet there have been no official signings to speak of (or at least not while I write this article).

There was also the promise of some investment in the club which is yet to be seen, although the time limit was simply set at 'before the start of next season' according to chairman Dave Allen, so at least there's still time yet there.

But we here at Vital Sheffield Wednesday want to know exactly how you feel about the club at this present time. Are you looking forward to the new campaign or not? Is there excitement as much as there was last close season or not?
