'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lekaj Makes It A Double

It's about time for some good news from Hillsborough after the lack of transfer activity this summer, and it comes in the shape of the club's young guns.

Owls' academy youngster Leon Lekaj has followed in his brother's footsteps by being called up to represent Norway in their under-17 squad this summer.

Older brother Rocky has already received international regonition with the Norway under-19 side for his swift rise up the ranks at Middlewood Road, and also appearing a number of times for the Wednesday first team last season.

And brother Leon, who has just started his scholarship with the Owls youth set-up, will represent Norway under-17s in a tournament in Sweden later this month.

Academy Manager, Sean McAuley, told the official Wednesday website: 'This is great news for Leon and we are all delighted for him. With Rocky having played for the Under-19s earlier in the year and now turning professional it shows that the Lekaj brothers have real potential.'

It's been a good week for the young Owls players, and the Lekaj's in particular, with Rocky signing his first professional contract with the club earlier in the week.

And while Wednesday struggle to impress the Owls faithful with the signings thus far this summer, there certainly seems a lot to look forward to as far as the future of the Owls in concerned.

Lets hope that we can keep hold of them both, and they keep on progressing like they have being doing up to now.

if they keep progressing at his rate then eventually the time will come for them to sign major contracts, and will they show loyalty, or want a move to a larger club? hopefully not.

Certainly looks like they both have a good future, I wonder how much we'll see of them next season?
