Watson Signs

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has completed his fourth signing of the summer with experienced midfielder Steve Watson returning to Hillsborough on a permanent deal.

The Owls have already wrapped up deals for goalkeepers Lee Grant and Rob Burch while former Scunthorpe utility man Richard Hinds has also put pen to paper on a deal at S6.

And Wednesday managed to get Watson on a free transfer despite having a year left to run on his contract at Tony Mowbray's club, and will be seen as a solid addition to the squad after fine appearances while on loan at S6 last season.

'I am delighted to get Steve Watson back to Sheffield Wednesday,' the Owls boss said. 'His experience, knowledge and quality showed in abundance during his loan spell here and I believe he is an excellent signing for us,' Laws told the official SWFC site.

'I think he has the quality that we need and his presence here will help the young players and bring them through because Steve is very good in the dressing with his knowledge of the game.'

The former Everton and Newcastle United man has penned a two-year deal at Hillsborough and also completed his medical, but still needs the official paperwork to be completed on Thursday.

decent enough signing, be interesting to see if he still has the legs for it, was never that quick.
The Fear
He did alright for us last season! I happy that he has sighed for us.
Nightowl
He is a good asset, as he can play all over the park. Age is not on his side, but he was free, so that keeps the board happy
