Sibon Set For Owls Re-Union

Wednesday are all set to be re-united with former Dutch striker Gerald Sibon - but the lanky hitman won't be wearing the Owls number nine shirt next season.

The 33-year-old striker is all set to put pen to paper on a deal with Dutch club Heerenveen in the coming days, and could come up against his former employers when Wednesday pit their wits against Heerenveen in a pre-season friendly next week.

The veteran striker has already enjoyed one spell at the club which saw him net 19 goals in 38 starts and earn him a move to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven - and Sibon will return after being released from an unsuccessful spell at German club Nurnberg last season.

The Dutch born striker arrived at Hillsborough for £2 million from Ajax in the summer of 1999 and went on to make 98 league starts for the Owls, netting 36 goals in a three-and-a-half year spell.

And Sibon is likely to get an outing against Wednesday on Wednesday July 18 when the Owls face Heerenveen in their second match of a three-match Dutch tour which commences next week.

What a legend, I wonder if those guys dressed all in orange that used to come to Hillsborough will be there?
