Quinn Rejects Owls Interest

Any hopes of having an Irish billionaire take the reigns at S6 this summer were dashed today when Sean Quinn rejected any interest in a takeover of Wednesday.

Quinn had been rumoured to be mounting a bid for the Owls alongside Paul Gregg, but a spokesperson for the Quinn Group revealed to BBC Radio Sheffield today that any links with Quinn and the Owls were simply speculation.

Owls chief executive Kaven Walker revealed this morning that the Owls were in discussions with a party about a possible investment or takeover in the club, raising speculation of a deal.

But although Quinn has counted himself out of the running, Paul Gregg's name still remains linked with Wednesday as chairman Dave Allen hopes to live up to his word and bring in fresh investment before the start of the new season.

Maybe if Quinn's out it'll just be investment from Gregg, rather than a takeover?

I`am so disappointed with this new, but lets hope that there is someone else out there to put the much needed cash into the club! Hope live on.
