Graham Not So Golden

Wednesday striker David Graham probably can't wait to get away from Hillsborough, and his case has been made even stronger after he was left out of the pre-season squad trip to Holland.

The former Torquay United striker has struggled to make a name for himself at S6 since Paul Sturrock brought him to the club at the start of the 2005-06 season from Wigan Athletic.

And Brian Laws has since deemed the Scottish hitman surplus to requirements at Hillsborough, insisting that he needs him off the Owls' wage bill to allow him to bring more players in.

The Owls boss hasn't included Graham in the squad of 24 that will be travelling to Holland for three pre-season clashes next week, instead opting to leave a spare place on the trip in case Wednesday tie up a deal for the mystery £2m striker they've tabled a bid for.

And the move to leave the striker out of the trip could also mean a way out of S6 for the Scot, with Laws insisting a loan deal away from the club could be arranged if a permanent deal can't be struck.
