Owls Overcome Eagles

Wednesday started their week-long pre-season tour of Holland with a victory as goals from Marcus Tudgay and Wade Small gave them a 2-1 win over Go Ahead Eagles on Tuesday night.

Brian Laws took his men abroad fresh on the back of a 3-0 victory at Halifax Town on Saturday, and they continued their pre-season preparations with a victory in front of a healthy following of Wednesday fans.

And the Owls boss made sure he gave plenty of the squad chances to impress with youngsters James Kay, Sean McAllister, Liam McMenamin, Mark Beevers and Rocky Lekaj all being involved at some point.

Wade Small also made a welcome return to action with 15 minutes to go and also added the icing to the cake with the winner for the Owls after the hosts pulled level Marcus Tudgay's opener.

GA Eagles: Moeliker; Göbel (60. Schoenmakers), Muruanaya, Parnela, Vosselman; Wissink (57. Turk), Oosthout (80. Brugge), van Dijk (70. Schotman); Ax (46. Smeekes), Ars (60. Platvoet) , Ahahaoui (78. van der Wal).

Wednesday: Robert Burch; Lee Bullen (46. Frank Simek), Peter Gilbert (78. James Kay), Steve Watson (46. Richard Hinds), Richard Wood (70. Mark Beevers); Liam McMenamin (46. Glenn Whelan), Sean (46. Deon Burton) McAllister, Burton O'Brien ; Leon Clarke (75. Wade Small), Marcus Tudgay (46. Rocky Lekaj), Chris Brunt (46. Kenny Lunt).

Good warm up, we're building a bit of momentum. I think Heerenveen might be a sterner test.. Marcus looks like he's up for it.

As long as we come through the tour injury free it will have been a good test for us. What saying the next game against Heerenveen that if sibon plays he will score!!
will it ever happen
Go Ahead Eagles are the same as a league 2 team! the rest of the teams we our playing are champ level so will be more of a test. As "will it ever happen" says Sibon will score against us , they always do!!
