Rasiak 'Not For Sale'

Rasiak 'Not For Sale'

Southampton boss George Burley has poured cold water over Grzegorz Rasiak's link with a £2m move to Hillsborough this summer by insisting the Polish striker is not for sale.

Media reports yesterday (yeah, yeah, including Vital Sheffield Wednesday) were reporting that the former Derby and Tottenham Hotspur hitman was the subject of a £2m raid by Owls boss Brian Laws.

But it now looks as though the Polish international, who was top scorer at St Mary's, will be staying put for the time being at least as Burley looks to cling on to his star men.

'They (Wednesday) haven't made any bid because I've told Brian Laws certainly now I'm not looking to sell him,' Burley told The Southern Daily Echo.

'You could say we've lost two of our best players and that has eased our financial worries and it had to be done but we don't want to lose any more. You always get speculation but I've told Grzegorz I don't want to sell him.

'We've lost Leon Best in the summer and have still got a healthy competition for places but we need everybody we can.

'We've had to sell two of our best players from last season in Gareth Bale and Chris Baird and we've lost Leon Best and those three players are big misses to our squad and we can't afford to weaken the squad any further'.

So it looks as though either Laws will be turning his attention elsewhere, with players such as Darius Vassell, Francis Jeffers and Cameron Jerome all linked with a move to S6, or the Owls are still in discussions with their mystery man.

Yet another False dawn, and lies fromthe club, just to keep us all sweet. PULL YOUR FINGERS OUT WEDNESDAY. YOU HAVE SOME OF THE MOST LOYAL FANS IN THE WORLD, YOU STILL AVERAGE 25,000 EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE SERVED UP RUBBISH FOR LAST 10 YEARS. STOP TREATING THE FANS LIKE IDIOTS. STOP THE LIES, STOP THE DECEIT, JUST TELL US THE MONEY HAS ALL GONE, AND WE WILL HAVE A SQUAD WITH NO NUMBER 9, AND WE WILL HAVE TO ACCEPT HIT, BUT BUILDING OUR HOPES UP AND THEN CRUSHING THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN IS DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOR

I wish the gossip-mongers would stop printing all the rubbish rumours, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW!!!!!!! Just tell me when or should I say "IF" that number 9 slot is filled. Maybe just maybe we will see a replacement before the start of the season but I feel that I won't be excited by it......... Oh well, I'm still stupid enough to follow....

Boys i think we all got a touch on with the prospect of Rasiak coming to hillsbrough I think it will all be sorted out by the end of next week at the latest I still have a feeling that we will be impressed hes not spent a penny yet and he has indicated somebody from abroad a premiership payer like vassell up for sale wouldnt be a bad call however lets have faith cause if hes going to push for promotion with out spending any money I think even he knows hes he cant seriously push for promotion with strikers that are do well if they get in double figures

As I said yesterday, they'd be mad to sell Rasiak at no profit. It disappoints me that they're not even trying to sign Fowler, scared off by the competition offered by the mighty Cardiff and Leicester. He'd put 2,000+ on the gates every match if he played regularly.
