Simek Set To Sign

Wednesday fans could at last have some news to celebrate this week with media reports revealing in-demand right-back Frank Simek is set to put pen to paper on a deal at S6.

There were rumours at the end of last season regarding Simek's future at the club, with the former Arsenal trainee being linked with a number of Premiership clubs including Everton, Middlesbrough and Fulham.

But Sky Sports have revealed today that they expect Frankie to pen a new deal with the club and has entered advance stages in extending his deal with the club.

Simek signed for the club in the summer of 2005 after coming through the youth ranks at Arsenal, and made a huge impact for the club with his no-nonsense defending which helped keep the Owls up in the Championship at the first time of asking.

And he made the step up last season to go on to become one of the Owls' star performers last term.

again it's not a lie by the club if the club don't say anything. if there is a new contract i wonder how high the leaving clause is set
wednesday4europe

I should hope it's a lot more than 2.5m!

i'd try to put it at 5, although i recently said i'd snap anyones hand off if any offered 4 mil for a right back that plays in the championship (25% of the way to Henry!)
wednesday4europe
I agree with wednesday4europe how can it be a lie by the club if the club have made no official comment or statement on the matter. Hope the rumours come true as Frankie is going to be a massiveplayer for us if we do well ! It would be a disaster if we did sell him as we have no other proper right back at the club !
