Kluivert Rumours Grow

We never thought we'd hear this, and yes, it does still sound daft, but former Barcelona hitman Patrick Kluivert is the latest of a long list of names linked with Hillsborough.

Wednesday boss Brian Laws is desperate to add a new striker to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season and in light of Steve Maclean's departure to Cardiff City.

And after missing out on Billy Sharp, Grzegorz Rasiak, and Kenwyne Jones, Laws is eager to add a big name to his squad, with Kluivert's name being mentioned and expected to arrive at Middleswood Road training ground some time this week.

The former Dutch international, 31, is currently playing in his home country with PSV Eindhoven but has failed to cement a first team spot down with the club, after moving there from a relatively unsuccessful spell at Valencia.

He's had a spell on English shores before with a short stint at Newcastle United, which saw him net six goals from 15 appearances for the Magpies, but he's best known for his time at Barcelona, Milan, and Ajax.

Watford striker Darius Henderson has also been linked with a move to S6 in the weekend papers, but that wouldn't be a 'big name' now Brian, would it?

MORE ON KLUIVERT COMING TO WEDNESDAY. His Wikipedia profile has already been changed to say current club: Sheff Wed. Wiki sometimes gets ahead of the news, a recent example being the death of wrestler Chris Benoit's wife. - Kluivert has actually been released by PSV and is available on a free. The Sheffield Star reports that a big name free agent could be on his way for a trial, so it's all pointing towards Kluivert.
i cant see were it says about kluvert on wiki
surely not. Can he still run?
i cant either who next joe blocks ???? lol more like c ronaldo
up the owls 2k7
great striker, bit of trouble though, could unsettle the dressing room?
The Fear
It was on Wiki earlier this afternoon that his current club was "Sheff Wed" and that his ***** number was 9. Someone has obviously changed it since.
Moderator, your language filter blocked out the name of what football players wear on their back during a game (s-h-i-r-t) - a bit ridiculous I think you need to crank the forum settings down a little. It also classifies Billy Sharp's former club as a swear word.
mmm i dont even know if hed be any good any way
shirt. maybe you misspelt it! :O)
The Fear
Darius Henderson? He's worth my 400 ST renewal fee alone. I just bricked my pants with the excitement.
I probably misspelt it, but Billy Sharp is definitely a ****.
i saw his wikipedia profile earlier aswell, current club sheff wed n squad number 9
fingers crossed! finally something 2 smile about down at s6
lets not get our hopes up to soon
Where I'd absolutely love Kluivert to join, I don't think we've got a hope in hell of signing him. I reckon it's a load of rubbish personally.
maybe hes the reason we didnt go for fowler?????

Its only an offer of a trial at this stage- he's yet to agree- have a look at BBC SY..."Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has told BBC Radio Sheffield the club has offered Patrick Kluivert a trial..."
that is a fantastic coup for wednesday, brilliant well done, but smiggy he wont turn into one of those players lets all face it he is already, Whatever happens if he signs you are definitely back on the map, bigtime.
His career at A.C. Milan started well when he scored a sensational goal against Juventus in a friendly match. However at this time Kluivert's personal life began to cause problems. He was charged with manslaughter following his involvement in a fatal car accident, to which he received community service and a driving ban. He was also charged with rape on a separate occasion, but he was to be later acquitted due to insufficient evidence. SIGN HIM UP!
Oh lord let it be true!
The most important thing is - will he play against the Millers in the cup???(are the rumours true that you are frightened to play us so you have to go out and buy 'real' footballers!!!) LOL
Just in your Dreams Herringthorpe
LOL Nightowl - I hope you do get him and he plays against us (Millmoor will be a revelation to him!)
ur be holding his hand m8
