Henderson On Laws' List

Henderson On Laws' List

Strikers here, strikers there, strikers everywhere...While Patrick Kluivert is invited for a trial, Brian Laws reveals Darius Henderson is also on his shopping list.

The Wednesday boss must have gone through more strikers on his shortlist than Neil Warnock ever has (or is that a bit extreme?), including rejected bids for Grzegorz Rasiak, Billy Sharp and Kenwyne Jones.

But while Laws is hopeful of bringing former Ajax, Milan and Barcelona hitman Patrick Kluivert to S6 to bolster his attack for next season, he also has a 'plan B' with Watford's Darius Henderson attracting his interest.

But Laws has revealed to BBC Radio Sheffield today that he could also face competition from another club for the services of the striker.

I've been talking to a lot of clubs and I can confirm that Darius is a player I've asked about,' Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield.

'I've talked to their manager and I'm aware there's a bid from another club.'

The Doncaster-born striker has netted 17 goals in 51 league starts for the Hornets since moving to Vicarage Road for £450,000 from Gillingham in August 2005.

according to the BBC he got to 15 in a season the last time he played in this division (without taking penalties), which is more than a certain billy sharp has ever scored in this division and more than any of our strikers scored last season including penalties. certainly not a big name but a proven goalscorer in this division

I cant believe we've missed out on so many players. Players who were affordable targets and yet not even any interest in them, players like.... Leon Best, Jamie Cureton and Freddy Eastwood. I just hope we've got an ace up our sleeve........i doubt it'l be henderson or kluivert. I would like to see Jermaine Easter at hillsbrough at a snip of around 700k too

henderson may have got 15 goals that season but watford finished 2nd and he played most games our lads nearly got that by plaing in a rotation system and finishing ninth I think theyd be better signing my grandand he once scored 24 goals for rotherham reserves back in 1964 and he only played as many games
