Graham Set For Gills

Out-of-favour Wednesday striker David Graham is set to end his nightmare spell with the Owls by securing a move to League One side Gillingham this week.

Graham has been frozen out at Hillsborough, after having been told he's not in Brian Laws' plans, and being left behind at Middlewood Road training ground as the Owls embarked on their pre-season tour of Holland.

The Scotsman played in Gillingham's friendly fixture against Charlton Athletic at the weekend as part of his trial spell with the club, and the Gills hope to have a deal tied up sooner rather than later.

'I've had a chat with David and I'll make an announcement on Monday after talking to Sheffield Wednesday,' Gills manager Ronnie Jepson told BBC Sport.

The former Scotland under-21 international has struggled to settle in to life in South Yorkshire after securing a move to Hillsborough from Wigan Athletic in 2005, having been sent out on loan to Huddersfield, Bradford and Torquay during his time at S6.

Fingers crossed we might have got rid of some dead wood at last. However, Allen will probably demand a fee. Surely not. Anyway,it all seems to have gone very quite on the 'players in' front. Wonder who this weeks rumour will be. Andy Cole, Dwight York? or maybe both, now that would be a coup.

I'm surprised anyone can get through to Hillsborough to make a bid for anyone. I have been trying to renew my season ticket for a week and the system has failed, there is no one actually at the club who will pick up the phone. They forward everything to ticketmaster who can't do anything. The guy at Ticket Master told me that they don't sell new season tickets either - so Sheffield Wednesday are currently selling no new season tickets. The online ordering system is also completely broken and has been since last week. What a shambles. Suffice to say, after going back and forth for a week I eventually gave up and after 10 years straight, my seat on the Kop will be vacant this seaon.

yorke and cole, now that would be interesting!! Bit old though, might be asking for half-time werthers originals when the lads are tucking into their oranges
Norman
bye bye david
will it ever happen
Norman, they might be a bit old, and may need something in the half time tea to keep them going, but I for one would be chuffed with either, both together for one last swansong would be fantastic. offer them both 1 year deals, pay them within the "budget" but offer them 1 million each if we get to the promised land, and they have completed at least 20 games each. Even onedeaddj might make one last effort and go to the ticket office in person to renew his ticket.

dont get me wrong, i'd love them to come, not only for their experience but also for the publicity and coverage for the owls, i.e. i'm sure sky sports would show a few more of our live games
Norman
It's difficult to go anywhere when you work 16 hours a day from home and have no car, walkley. This is why credit card transactions over the phone were introduced in, what, the early 80's? A high-tech commodity that it took Wednesday a week to notice was not working despite my repeated e mails and calls. http://www.swfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/0,,10304~1081405,00.html - this club is run by complete amateurs who treat us all like scum and then want to ID card us for the priviledge. No thanks, I'll keep my 400.

what we on with now lads how about shearer since were ruffling rumours up
fozzyp
I'd take Hansen and Gabby considering our current situation
Norman
Wonder if Andy Gray has any spare time?

kepp your 400 then! if u put as much effort into renewing your season ticket as u put into moaning on here then ud already have your ticket sat at home like i and 1000's of others already have!!

If only Shearer could manage a last season in the championship, Alas I think not. Pity though. Thank god Creswell looks Hull bound, thats nearly as good news as Graham hopefully heading to Kent. Onedeaddj, I dont disagree that many aspects of the running of the club give the impressionn of amateur hour. However, you might not be aware of it, but Hillsborough did actually suffer severe flood damage, and for that reason I will forgive them their recent failings. I had to go down and collect my tickets last Friday, and the ticket office has been moved into the Gym. Alot of the applications for tickets were actually ruined, so there is a bit of a backlog. I appreciate your frustration totally, but when your sat at home on a Saturday afternoon, albeit with your 400, listening to radio Sheffield, you might reflect that principle is sometimes a bitter pill to swallow. If I had a pound for everytime I said no more, believe me I would have more than your 400. As it is,this is my 38th consecutive year as a season ticket holder,my dad is 75 and he still has one, as does my daughter at 16 (9th year) and my 4 year old is all set for her 1st full season, having been to a dozen or so games last season. Fortunately there are thousands like us. Love them or hate them, you cant leave them. Up the Owls. Ps. Yes I know I moan as much or more than everyone else, and my opinions are often not those held by my piers. However, we all have a right to express our views, and I hope that my critism of anyone else's comments are taken in the manner that they were intended and not the wrong way.

Not having a season ticket holds more benefits anyway to me - I can sit where I want, I can take other people with me and not have them sitting 3 rows behind, I can miss matches that I can't attend, and I don't have to carry around a de facto ID card - that's why I just decided to give up on it eventually. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to live in Sheffield for my entire life, so I've got to NOT have a season ticket at some point, might as well be now.
onedeaddj
onedeaddj. Fair comment. I work away alot and miss quite a few games, but I always want to live here. I get the tickets because watching Wednesday is the only thing I have ever done as a family and see no need in changing that into the next generation. It costs me more than it should but I dont want the hastle of ringing up and trying to get 4 seats together at short notice, then having to go and collect the damn things. Just easier with tickets for me I suppose. Bye the way. There is an item on the official site stating that they are having major problems with the computer systems due to the phone lines. Anyway, has Graham gone yet? surely the Gills cant be saying no,please god.
thewalkleyone
And we'll all drink to that! Farewell David!
