Tenner For Brum!

Tenner For Brum!

Wednesday have announced the prices for the 'showpiece' final friendly match of the pre-season campaign against Birmingham at Hillsborough on Saturday.

Tickets are priced at £10 adults and £5 concessions for the clash with Steve Bruce's Premiership new-boys, the clash which will mark the first match back at Hillsborough following the flooding in Sheffield this summer, and the last match before the start of the new campaign the following weekend.

And it looks as though the Owls have taken advice from fans who were forced to pay over the odds for the friendly showpiece last term against Middlesbrough, by reducing tickets to 'normal' friendly prices.

Fans will be hoping for a better showing from Wednesday after the 3-0 humiliation at Port Vale last weekend, with fans booing the performance.

And Wednesdayites could even have the chance to see a number number nine in action in the blue and white stripes should Brian Laws finally become successful in his search for a new striker at Hillsborough.

I think it's great that the fans have not been priced out of the game against a good Premiership side team. Wednesday's fans will get to see the likes of Kapo who is a international for France, Garry O'Connor of Scotland, Egypt international Hossam Ghaly and the return of Mikael Forssell who is firing on all cylinders. I think it'll be an absoloutely terrific match. I fancy Wednesday for a promotion push this season getting a automatic spot I mean Brian Law's is a fantastic bloke and a good manager Wednesday could be in no better hands. The chairmen regularly backs the manager and Wedenesday have brought in some talent they also have fans to be proud of. Good Luck Wednesday!

Simone. Your coments are very complimentary, but I feel maybe more than a little tongue in cheek. Brian Laws may be a fantastic bloke, but as yet has been unable to secure a Number 9 of any note. The chairman, although seemingly very genorous in his backing, appears to be a lame duck, in as much as he has reached an impasse. He wont invest further, nor will he step asside and let someone else have a go. We have very little talent in reality, and unfortunately I do not share your optimism for a good season to come. But thanks anyway. I hope to be proven wrong.

Simone, I think you're absolutely spot on. I for one see Wednesday playing in Europe next year.

Not unless they do a pre season tour in Europe again.

Last time I checked, England was in Europe, so you're spot on Duggo. But seriously, I thought Kaven Walker and Dave Allen were too busy offering peanuts to our best players to make time to share their opinion.

Very reasonable given we charged £15 for the Wigan game!
