Maclean Set For Return

Owls striker Steven Maclean is set for his first appearances for the club this season in tommorow afternoon's reserve clash with Huddersfield Town.

Maclean, who topped scored for the Owls last season, has not featured this season after breaking his leg in Wednesday's final pre-season match with Manchester City.

Owls boss Paul Sturrock told the official SWFC site that Maclean could have featured on the bench for last weekend's match against Leeds United, but decided against it.

He said: ''Stevie was gutted about not being on the bench but there's no way I'm taking chances with him. I pray the reserve game is on because my so-called messiahs are returning.''

The former-Rangers man is set to feature for half of the match, while fellow long-term absentee Drew Talbot is also expected to feature for half an hour after recovering from a back injury.

Entry for the match is free, and kick's off tommorow at 2.00pm.
